If you applied to Augustine University, Ilara-Epe (AUI) for the 2026/2027 session and you’re now refreshing your email every few hours waiting for your screening date, you’re not the only one. Post-UTME screening is one of those stages that feels quiet on the outside but stressful on the inside, mostly because nobody wants to miss their slot or turn up without the right documents.

This guide walks you through how AUI’s Post-UTME/Direct Entry screening actually works, what you need to bring, how to dress, and what to do if your application still isn’t showing as complete. Where a detail changes often or hasn’t been officially confirmed everywhere, we’ll tell you exactly that, so you know what to double-check before you travel to Epe.

How AUI’s Post-UTME screening process works

Augustine University doesn’t call every applicant to campus on the same day. Once you finish your online application, the university’s official process is to contact you individually by email (and sometimes SMS) with your specific screening instructions. That means there’s no single “screening day” that applies to everyone. Your invitation only comes after your application is complete.

Some reports from the current admission cycle indicate that AUI’s on-campus screening exercise for the 2026/2027 session began around mid-July 2026 and is running over several days, with candidates attending on different scheduled dates rather than all at once. This detail hasn’t been independently confirmed on the university’s own admission pages at the time of writing, so treat it as a general timing guide rather than your personal date. Your own screening date is the one in your email, not the one you saw on a blog.

What this means for you: check the email address you used during your application regularly, including your spam folder, and don’t assume a general “screening has started” announcement applies to you specifically.

Step 1: Make sure your application is actually complete

Before any screening invitation can reach you, your application needs to be fully submitted. Here’s the process AUI’s admission portal follows:

    1. Go to the University’s website and click on the Undergraduate Admission Portal.
    2. Read the application instructions carefully.
    3. Click “Create Account” and select your applicant category: UTME (for JAMB candidates), Direct Entry (for JUPEB, A’Level or OND holders), Transfer (for candidates moving from another university), JUPEB, or Part-Time.
    4. Fill in your details and create your account.
    5. Log in, click “Pay with Remita,” generate your RRR number, and complete payment for the application form.
    6. Once payment is confirmed, fill in the application form itself.
    7. At the bottom of the form, pay for O’Level result verification through Remita.
    8. Once that payment goes through, enter your JAMB and O’Level result details and upload your supporting documents.
    9. Click “Submit.” You should see an “application submitted” confirmation pop-up.

If you paid and got a Remita receipt but your portal status hasn’t updated, don’t panic and don’t pay again. Go to “Resolve Payment” on your portal dashboard, find your RRR number among the listed attempts, and click “Check Status.” If the payment was successful, the page will let you update your portal immediately.

Only after every step above is done correctly will the university reach out to schedule your screening.

Step 2: Confirm you meet the basic eligibility requirements

AUI’s official admission requirements apply to every applicant type:

    • You must be at least 16 years old by 30 September of your admission year.
    • For UTME (100 level) admission, you need a minimum of five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at no more than two sittings, in subjects relevant to your intended course.
    • You must also have sat and passed UTME as specified by JAMB in the subjects relevant to your course.
    • For Direct Entry (200 level) admission, you need two A’Level passes (or equivalent) in relevant subjects, or NCE, or a first degree in another field, in addition to the five O’Level credits above.
    • UTME applicants awaiting their SSCE/GCE results can still apply.

There’s one requirement that trips up a lot of applicants every year:

You must choose Augustine University Ilara as your first-choice institution on your JAMB portal, and upload your O’Level result there, for your admission to be considered. If you didn’t select AUI as first choice, you can still apply, but you’ll need to process a change of institution on the JAMB portal before your screening, since JAMB alone grants final admission into any Nigerian institution. If your O’Level result hasn’t been uploaded to your JAMB CAPS profile, or you haven’t switched your first choice, your admission will remain pending until you sort this out, even if you pass screening.

Direct Entry applicants need to have obtained a JAMB DE form for the admission year, and transfer applicants need an admission letter from the university they’re transferring from.

    Documents to bring to screening

Once you’re invited for screening, arrive with the correct set of documents for your category. Based on the university’s own instructions and recent applicant guidance, here’s what to prepare:

    UTME applicants:

    • Birth certificate
    • O’Level result (if you’re still awaiting results, bring your WAEC ID card or examination slip instead)
    • JAMB result, printed directly from the JAMB website
    • Doctor’s report, if you have a relevant medical condition

    Direct Entry applicants:

    • Birth certificate
    • O’Level result
    • A’Level result
    • Doctor’s report, where applicable

    Transfer applicants:

    • Birth certificate
    • O’Level result
    • JAMB result
    • JAMB admission letter to your current institution
    • Academic transcript (official or unofficial)
    • Doctor’s report, where applicable

Because these document lists are drawn partly from applicant reporting rather than a single official checklist page, it’s worth confirming the exact list in your own invitation email before you travel, in case your specific programme requires anything extra.

    How to dress for screening

This is one area where AUI is genuinely strict, and it’s confirmed directly on the university’s own admissions pages, so there’s no guessing here.

The dress code emphasises corporate, modest attire for everyone:

    • Male applicants: trousers, a dress shirt, and a tie. Jeans, slippers, and sandals are not acceptable.
    • Female applicants: skirts or gowns below the knee, or office/pant trousers (nothing tight), paired with a shirt or blouse. Crop tops and round-neck tops are not allowed, and flat shoes are encouraged. Jeans and slippers/sandals are not permitted.
    • Hair: neat, tidy, and natural in colour. Unusual colours or extreme styling are discouraged. Male applicants should keep a low haircut.
    • General rule: tight skirts, tight trousers, short skirts, and revealing tops are strictly prohibited.

Turning up dressed casually won’t get you turned away outright, but it does work against the professional impression the university is screening for, so it’s worth taking seriously.

    What happens on the day

Arrive early. Candidates who show up outside their scheduled date are typically not attended to, so there’s no advantage in arriving on the wrong day hoping to be squeezed in. Bring your documents in a folder rather than loose, and keep your JAMB result and O’Level credentials easily accessible, since these are usually the first things checked.

If your admission is still showing as pending because you haven’t uploaded your O’Level result to JAMB or haven’t changed your first choice, sort this out through your JAMB profile before you attend, not after. Candidates who have completed these steps and meet the admission requirements are typically considered first.

    Frequently asked questions

Do I need to travel to Epe for screening, or is it done online?

AUI’s process, as described in its own admission instructions, is to contact applicants after their application is complete, and screening for post-UTME/DE applicants generally involves attending the campus in person. If your invitation says otherwise, follow what your email tells you specifically.

What if I didn’t choose AUI as my first choice on JAMB?

You can still apply and attend screening, but your admission will stay pending until you complete a change of institution on the JAMB portal. Do this before, not after, your screening date.

How much is the application or screening fee?

Application and result-verification payments are made through Remita on the university’s own portal. Because fee figures are subject to change and aren’t confirmed on every official page we reviewed, always check the current amount shown on your account dashboard before making any payment, and never pay into a personal account. AUI has repeatedly warned that all payments must go through its official portal only.

What if my payment didn’t reflect after I paid?

Use the “Resolve Payment” option on your portal, locate your RRR number, and click “Check Status” rather than paying again.

    Before you close this tab

Your screening date is personal to you, not a date you saw shared online. The most reliable thing you can do right now is log into your AUI applicant portal and check the email you registered with. If anything in this guide doesn’t match what your invitation says, follow your invitation.
