If you chose the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) and you’ve been refreshing your phone every few hours, waiting to see the words “Admission offered”, you’re not alone. The wait is stressful, and it gets worse when one website says the list is out and another says it isn’t.
This guide shows you exactly how to check your FULAFIA admission status on JAMB CAPS, what each status on your screen actually means, and what to do if you see an offer, a programme transfer or a “Not admitted” message.
Important: Reports from education news sites indicate that FULAFIA has started uploading 2026/2027 admission offers to JAMB CAPS in batches. Because offers go up in batches, your own CAPS profile is the only reliable way to know where you stand. Don’t depend on any website, including this one, to tell you whether you’ve been admitted.
Who this guide is for
This guide is for candidates who applied to FULAFIA’s full-time degree programmes through UTME or Direct Entry and took part in the Post-UTME screening.
If you applied to the Part-Time Programme, the process is different. Part-time applicants are directed to check through the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD) on campus, so follow that centre’s notices instead.
How to check the FULAFIA admission list on JAMB CAPS
Have your JAMB profile username and password ready. Then follow these steps:
- Go to the JAMB e-Facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
- Log in with the username and password you used to register for UTME.
- Scroll down and click Check Admission Status.
- Click Access my CAPS.
- Select Admission Status to see whether FULAFIA has offered you admission.
If you’re using your phone and CAPS only shows a welcome message with no admission options, don’t panic. Open the portal in Google Chrome, tap the browser menu and choose Desktop site. The full page should then load.
It’s also a good idea to keep an eye on FULAFIA’s own channels for notices. The university used my.fulafia.edu.ng for Post-UTME registration this session, so that portal and the university’s official website are the places to watch for announcements.
What each status on JAMB CAPS means
Seeing a status you don’t understand can send you into panic mode. Here is what each one means.
| Status | What it means | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Admission offered | JAMB has approved your admission. | Respond to the offer promptly (see the next section). |
| Admission in progress (AIP) | FULAFIA has recommended you, but the approval process is still running. | Wait, and keep checking. |
| Recommended | FULAFIA has considered you, and your recommendation is waiting for JAMB’s review. | Wait, and keep checking. |
| Pending | Your application is still under review. No final decision has been made. | Keep checking your profile. |
| Not admitted | You haven’t received an approved offer yet. | Keep checking, because lists come in batches. |
It’s important to note that “Not admitted” doesn’t always mean “rejected”. When a university uploads names in batches, some candidates simply haven’t been reached yet. That’s why you should keep checking instead of assuming the worst after one look.
What to do if you see an admission offer
You’ve gone through UTME, Post-UTME and the long wait, so this moment is worth celebrating. But don’t let the excitement make you slow. An offer you don’t respond to can be lost.
If you’re admitted into the programme you chose
You can respond to the offer in either of these ways:
- Biometric verification: Visit an approved JAMB CBT centre or a JAMB office.
- SMS: Send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number you registered with JAMB. You’ll need at least ₦50 in your main airtime balance, because borrowed airtime and Xtra Credit won’t work.
If you’re offered a different programme
Sometimes a candidate doesn’t get the course they applied for but is offered another one at FULAFIA. This is called a programme transfer, and it needs two separate responses:
- Check CAPS for the transfer offer and accept or reject it.
- If you accept the transfer, accept the admission offer for the new programme when it appears.
Many students stop after the first step and assume they’re done. Accepting the transfer and accepting the admission are not the same action, so make sure you complete both.
Before you accept a different programme, ask yourself a simple question: could I study this for four or five years and still be glad I did? If you’re unsure, talk to someone you trust before you respond.
What to do after you accept
Once you’ve accepted, print your JAMB admission letter from your CAPS profile and keep a few copies. FULAFIA will announce the next steps, such as fee payment and registration, through its official channels. We haven’t listed fee amounts or deadlines here because they couldn’t be verified at the time of writing.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Checking only once. Offers come in batches, so your status can change between visits.
- Using the wrong phone number for SMS. If it isn’t the number linked to your JAMB registration, the response won’t go through.
- Ignoring a transfer offer. Leaving it unanswered can cost you the offer.
- Trusting screenshots and WhatsApp lists. Only your CAPS profile and FULAFIA’s official channels count. Anyone asking you to pay for “guaranteed admission” is not to be trusted.
A word of honesty
Here’s something most posts won’t say. Some websites publish “admission list is out” headlines before they’ve confirmed anything, because the headline gets clicks. If you’ve seen conflicting information about FULAFIA this session, that’s the reason. A list being out for one programme, such as part-time, doesn’t mean your own list is out. Your CAPS profile is the only place that gives you a straight answer.
Frequently asked questions
Is the FULAFIA admission list released in one go?
Based on current reports, no. Offers are being uploaded in batches, so candidates without an offer yet should continue checking.
I see “Not admitted”. Is that final?
Not necessarily. Your application may simply not have been reached in the current batch. Keep checking CAPS and watch FULAFIA’s official notices.
Can I check my admission on my phone?
Yes. If you only see a welcome message, switch Chrome to the desktop site.
Do I need to accept a programme transfer before accepting admission?
Yes. You respond to the transfer offer first, then accept the admission into the new programme once it appears.
Where can I confirm the latest details?
Confirm everything through JAMB CAPS, the JAMB website and FULAFIA’s official portal and website. Procedures and dates can change, so always verify before you act.
Your next step
Log in to JAMB CAPS today, check your status, and if you see an offer, respond to it straight away. If you see anything other than an offer, check again in a few days, since lists are still being uploaded.
