If you’ve been refreshing your JAMB e-Facility page since your Post-UTME screening, hoping to see Federal University Lokoja next to your name, this one is for you. The waiting has probably felt longer than the screening itself, and every “list is out” rumour on WhatsApp has made it worse.
Here’s the update that matters: on 15 October 2026, the university announced that it has started uploading its 2026/2027 admissions on JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). This guide walks you through how to check your status, what the two types of offers mean, and what you must do within 48 hours if you receive one.
What Federal University Lokoja has announced
The Admissions Division of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) published an official notice on 15 October 2026 at 3:30 p.m. It says admissions upload on the 2026/2027 CAPS platform has begun.
Two details in that notice change how you should check:
- Upload is in batches. Not every candidate will see an offer at the same time, so one empty check doesn’t tell you much. You need to keep checking.
- Offers expire. Once an offer appears, you have 48 hours to respond. If you don’t, you forfeit it.
The university also advises candidates to visit the nearest JAMB Office or JAMB-accredited CBT Centre to access their e-Facility and check admission status. It adds that accepting an offer is best done at one of those places.
Who should be checking
According to the university’s notice, you should be checking if both of these are true:
- You chose Federal University Lokoja as your first choice.
- You took part in the 2026 Post-UTME screening exercise.
This matters because FUL’s admission guidelines say only applicants who selected the university as their first choice and participated in the screening will be considered. To be eligible for that screening in the first place, UTME candidates needed a minimum score of 160, according to the university’s admissions page.
If you missed the screening, or FUL wasn’t your first choice, you were outside the group the university said it would consider. Please confirm your situation through the official FUL website before assuming anything.
How to check your admission status on JAMB CAPS
Follow these simple steps:
- Decide where you’ll check. FUL advises going to a JAMB Office or an accredited CBT Centre. Many candidates can also log in from a phone or laptop, but if you receive an offer, the university says acceptance is best done at a JAMB office or accredited centre. Bring your login details and your JAMB registration number.
- Go to the official JAMB e-Facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and log in with the email address and password you used when you created your JAMB profile.
- Click “Check Admission Status”.
- Select 2026 as your examination year and enter your JAMB registration number if asked.
- Click “Access My CAPS”. This opens your admission dashboard.
- Open “Admission Status”. If an offer has been uploaded for you, you’ll see the institution and the programme.
It’s important to note that button names and menu labels on JAMB’s portal can change. If something on your screen is worded differently from the steps above, go with what your screen shows.
If you’ve already accepted an offer on CAPS but e-Facility doesn’t show it, look for a “Refresh Admission from CAPS” box beside the “Check Admission Status” button. Tick it and check again.
If you see an offer: accept or reject within 48 hours
FUL says admission offers fall into two categories. Which one applies to you decides what you click first.
Category one: admitted into the programme you chose
This is the straightforward case. Your offer shows the programme you applied for, and you simply accept or reject it.
Category two: transferred to a different programme
Here, the university has offered you a different programme from the one you chose. You must respond in two stages:
- First, accept or reject the transfer offered by the institution.
- If you accept the transfer, you must then also accept the admission offered in the new programme.
Let’s say you applied for one programme and your dashboard shows another. Don’t panic, and don’t click anything yet. Read the offer carefully, think about whether the new programme fits your goals, and then decide. You have 48 hours, which is enough time to think but not enough time to ignore it.
Before you accept any transfer, check the O’Level and UTME subject requirements for that programme on the FUL admission requirements page. Programmes differ, and you want to be sure the course you’re accepting is one you’re comfortable studying for four or five years.
Quick reference: key dates and facts
| Item | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Post-UTME portal opened | 9 June 2026 | FUL official notice |
| Scheduled Post-UTME closing date | 13 September 2026 | FUL approved schedule |
| Scheduled forwarding of admissions to CAPS | 5 October 2026 | FUL approved schedule |
| Admissions upload on CAPS commenced | 15 October 2026 | FUL official notice |
| Response time after an offer | 48 hours, or you forfeit it | FUL official notice |
| Scheduled opening of fresh students’ registration portal | 26 October 2026 | FUL approved schedule |
| Scheduled fresh students’ resumption | 2 November 2026 | FUL approved schedule |
Notice that the approved schedule listed 5 October for CAPS forwarding, while the university’s own notice of upload commencing is dated 15 October. When a start date moves, later dates can move too, so treat the registration and resumption dates above as scheduled dates and confirm them on FUL’s website.
A note about “admission list” websites
You’ll find many websites with headlines saying the FULOKOJA admission list is out. Some of them were published weeks before the university’s own announcement, which doesn’t match the official timeline. Screening hadn’t even finished at that point.
The official notice points candidates to JAMB e-Facility. It doesn’t tell candidates to look for a list on a third-party website. So your own CAPS dashboard is the only place to trust.
Also be careful with anyone who asks you to pay to “confirm” or “secure” your admission, or who asks for your JAMB password. No one needs that from you to check your status.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Checking once and giving up. Upload is in batches. A blank status today can change later this week.
- Ignoring the 48-hour window. If you get an offer on a busy day and wait, you may lose it. Plan to check at least once or twice daily until you see a result.
- Accepting a transfer without reading it. The new programme may have different subject requirements and a different duration.
- Forgetting the second step on a transfer. Accepting the transfer isn’t the end. You must also accept the admission in the new programme.
- Sharing your login details. Your e-Facility password stays with you.
- Relying on screenshots or forwarded lists. If it isn’t on your dashboard, it isn’t confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
I checked and nothing shows. Does that mean I wasn’t admitted?
Not necessarily. FUL says admissions are being uploaded in batches, so your offer may simply not have been uploaded yet. Keep checking regularly. If days pass with no change, you can contact the university’s Admissions Division through the contact details on its website.
Is there a separate PDF list on the FUL website?
The official notice we found directs candidates to check their status through JAMB e-Facility. We didn’t find a separate public list on the university’s site at the time of writing. If one is published later, it will appear on fulokoja.edu.ng.
Does a good Post-UTME score guarantee admission?
No. FUL’s Post-UTME guidelines say the Central Admissions Committee applies other admission modalities beyond the screening result. A strong score helps, but it isn’t a guarantee.
What happens if I miss the 48-hour window?
According to the university, you forfeit the offer. That’s why it’s worth checking often once upload has started.
When do fresh students register and resume?
FUL’s approved schedule lists 26 October 2026 for the opening of the fresh students’ registration portal and 2 November 2026 for resumption. Because CAPS upload began later than the schedule planned, confirm both dates on the FUL website. At the time of writing, we hadn’t seen registration instructions for this session on the university’s news page.
What to do next
Today, gather your JAMB registration number, e-Facility email and password, and decide whether you’ll check from home or visit a JAMB-accredited CBT Centre. Then check your status, and check again over the next few days.
If an offer appears, read the programme carefully, respond within 48 hours, and then watch FUL’s official website for registration guidelines. That’s the whole job for now: check, read, respond. Waiting is stressful, but having a clear routine makes it lighter.
Admission details can change. Always confirm the latest updates through the official Federal University Lokoja website and your JAMB e-Facility account before taking action.
